I left in 1973, only managed 2 'O' Levels, did a summer job at Bentalls, before being accepted by Lloyds Bank Ltd (now Lloyds Banking Group), joining the Customer Service side of the business. After 32 years, five branches later (1995), took voluntary redundancy, upon Lloyds Bank merging with Trustees Savings Bank. After brief period of unemployment, joined Fern Training and Development Ltd (1997), supporting the unemployed gain sustainable employment through delivery of government training schemes, working latterly in the Quality Assurance and lately in Finance and Appraisal Monitoring of programmes delivered. Company was bought out in (2006), again I took voluntary redundancy, due to role duplication and staff consolidation by the new company, resulting in 6 years of protracted unemployment. Recent highlight has been doing a tandem skydive for charity (RAF Benevolent Fund - in memory of my father, who died 2008) in 2010. Hoping to return to the work place imminently...
