Son of Headmaster A E Foot

We are saddened to learn that George (Arthur Foot's son) died peacefully on 7 September.

He had been diagnosed with a rare form of bladder cancer six weeks ago, so the deterioration and death was very quick. He was very fond of all things Ottershaw and loved to share conversations about life, school and the headmaster, his father.

We have now received the following information from his family:

Arrangements for the Celebration of George Foot’s Life

Tuesday 22 September 2020  1pm at, Taunton Crematorium, Wellington New Road Taunton TA1 5 NE
Unfortunately, due to the current Covid19 restrictions, the ceremony will only be attended by our direct family.

However, we do hope that many others will be with us in spirit throughout the day and evening. We would like as many of you as possible to write a short message, or even just a word that summarises or is meaningful for you, to George which I will place in his coffin to surround him with love. I do not intend to open any of the sealed messages so people can feel confident they can send a private message.

Messages can either be sent to me (sealed or otherwise) or directly to the funeral Directors, WH Squires & Son, 27 Higher Street Cullompton EX15 1AJ.

Many, many people have already sent kind messages and cards already and these too can be placed around him. Just send me an email, if possible, if you would like me to do this with a message you have already sent. And at some point, in the evening, please step outside, look up to the sky and stars and give George a lasting thought.

Donations in lieu of flowers: Several people have asked if they could donate to one of our chosen charities, which would be wonderful. The 3 charities that we have identified, as being particularly special to us are: Marie Curie, Women’s Aid STOP(Stop Abuse for Everyone) and the South West Coast Path

Thank you to everyone for all your love and support which is carrying me through, at this very sad time.
