Richard May

OT 931 - North

It was with great saddness that we learned today from his brother Jan, that Richard May  (OT 931- North) had died in hospital on 22 May 2020.

In more recent years Richard had attended several of the annual gatherings of the '60 group at "The Castle "in Ottershaw. He is going to be sadly missed.

Richard's brother has only just come across our appeal for information about Richard and wishes to send an invitation to Old Boys to attend a memorial service for Richard which was held on 14 May 2022.

Please see the letter reproduced below from Richard's family.

Dear Friends of Richard,

Memorial Service for Richard P A May, 14th May 2022.

It is almost two years since our brother, Richard, sadly passed away. It was at the beginning of COVID, and we were very limited as to the number of people that we could invite to his funeral, and we were unable to hold a wake to include  everyone to remember him. Because of these restrictions we said that we would hold a Memorial Service as soon as restrictions were fully lifted, as it turned out this was not until the autumn of last year, when the days were getting shorter and colder. Itwas therefore decided that a more suitable time to hold a Memorial Service would be on, what would have been Richard's birthday, the 14th May this year, 2022.

We would like to invite you to a Memorial Service for Ricnard at 11:OOam on Saturday 14th May 2022 at:
St Nicholas Church,
Church Lane
Godstone, Surrey
RH98BW

Afterwards there will be a reception at a venue to be advised.

Richard had many friends, many of whom we do not know, so please feel free to include others in this invitation, that you know, that knew our brother.

Yours sincerely,
His brothers,  Peter, Roger and Jan
