Henry Stapleton
Mr Stapleton can be seen in the 1970 school photograph, third row from the front (i.e. on a chair), eighth from the right when looking at the picture. Three to our right of Mr Wigram, and three to our left of the Burser. Old boy John Chapman, Professor of Maths at Keele Universitiy went on to say
"I remember Mr Stapleton with great affection, and I can also remember vividly his appearance - tall, and somewhat lean and spare, with rather angular features. He was a magnificent teacher of mathematics to me, Rowland Burley, and a few others, in our lower sixth year. Incredible though it may seem to the more earthy characters at the school, I regarded his double-mathematics lesson as the highlight of the week!"
