A North House boy, Mike was well known to me and a friend in schooldays as in later life. I was best man at his first wedding! He was a man of great integrity, loyal to his friends and a loving husband and father. He became a director of a small engineering company in a successful lifetime career. With his second wife Sheila, Mike had a daughter, Louise, who has become an eminent architect. After nearly two years of failing health through Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia, Mike died on 25 May this year. Sheila was his carer for all bar the last two months of his life.

His friends from schooldays remember him as a kind and always courteous boy, keeping these as lifelong qualities. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family, Sheila would be happy to hear from any friends wishing to get in touch. Email her at: summersmoon@hotmail.uk
