A popular pupil in his days at Ottershaw, Peter will be remembered by his contemporaries as a pleasing companion at all times. Always an enthusiast and a keen sportsman, he won places in the First XI soccer team as a sound goalkeeper, and the First XV and First XI rugby and cricket teams.

On leaving school in 1965 he was a founding player in the Old Boys’ Rugby Club, forming the front row of the scrum, together with his good friends from schooldays Rick Burchell and Tim Jenvey. He also represented Kingstonian FC in goal. Later he was to take up Royal Tennis, becoming a quality player in this game and playing at Hampton Court, where many years previously Arthur Foot had been a distinguished player. Peter embarked on a career in business, where he enjoyed success over many years, rising to President of International Data Corporation before founding his own company, Regent Associates, in 1987. With a special interest in information technology industries, Peter led Regent to successful growth in his business sector, and was widely respected internationally. He wasalways a visionary with the opportunities he saw and, his professional skills combined with his warmth and friendship displayed at all levels, Peter delivered outstanding value to clients and loyal friendship to his colleagues.

Married to Jeannette, Peter leaves a son, Simon, and grandchildren, who gave him great happiness through his last years in his untiring battle with leukaemia. His funeral was attended by many friends and business colleagues. There were eulogies from Derek Alway of Regent and from his lifetime friend Rick Burchell. Rick paid tribute to Peter as a good friend from the early days, throughout their schooldays and into later life, adding anecdotes of Peter’s escapades in
youth. The two families remained close; indeed, Rick and his brother Bill each regarded Peter as a second brother.

Peter will be sorely missed by his many friends gained over the years and most of all by his wife Jeannette, son Simon and all the family.
