Bob Guy was a marine pilot living in Cairns, Queensland, Australia and in the last three years had been visited by Peter Trevett and Terence Nagle. Peter tells us that Bob's job involved him in piloting ships around the Barrier Reef for 3 or 4 days at a time and when Peter last saw him he was about to pilot a ship with a typhoon only some 60 miles away from Cairns.
