Terence Nagle tells us of the untimely death of ROGER LEE [OT 459].

Roger's eldest daughter, Ferry, reported that Roger died peacefully on 5th June in hospital in Dubai after a short illness. His funeral service was held in the Holy Trinity Church, Dubai, on Thursday 9th June followed by internment at the Jebel Ali Cemetery.

Roger came to Ottershaw in 1956 and was a member of North House where he was affectionately known as Eccles, presumably because of his glasses and affinity with the Goons character. The school played an important part in his life and it was interesting to learn that he incorporated his school number in his e-mail address. After school he became an accountant and whilst working for Trafalgar House had what he described as "the pleasure of being paid to audit the cruise ships belonging to the company which included amongst other duties sitting in the bars watching whether the barmen and stewards were on the fiddle". After this sinecure he was posted to the Ritz Hotel also owned by Trafalgar again on the audit side. After his marriage to Sally he joined the Dubai Aluminium Company and moved to the Middle East where he spent the rest of his working
