Music Trophy

Do you remember this instrument?

It was used as the school music trophy between 1954 and the close of the school. We believe it was presented to the school by Mark Wigram the music teacher but know little about its past so can anyone shed any further light on its history. We know there is a connection to  General Anders and so Mark Wigram may have obtained it from either Gen. Anders himself or had some direct connection with perhaps the Polish Army post war.

The trumpet has Hebrew writing engraved on it as well as the school house music competition winners from 1954 to 1979 which are continued on the trophy base - see pictures below. It is understood that General Anders may have picked this item up as part of his kit when equipping in Palestine with the Polish Corps after arriving from a Russian POW camp in Siberia in 1942.

The trophy, was sold at the 1993 AGM auction to David Dungate who later had it restored and now has a small plaque which reads as follows:
